About my car: I have a VW Golf mk4 1.4 16v AXP engine, late 2000, Euro IV It has no problems starting, always starts at the first try. It has no problems idling, 900-1000 RPM when cold, 800 RPM after 2 minutes of driving. It has no problems going straight, no problems when keeping it under constant acceleration. It has random moments when it chokes, especially when I have to accelerate. This always happens if the RPM's are lower than 3000, even in first gear. The RPM will just start to drop lower and lower until I let go of the Gas Pedal and try again. One time I had to stop, pull the hand brake, rev the engine a bit and then went on my way. I have checked: - Spark Plug Wires - Error Codes, noting.. - Oil and Coolant, no Head Gasket problems. I have changed the usual stuff: - Filters: Air, Oil and Fuel - Vacuum Line, had a small crack. - Spark Plugs, original replacement BERU I have cleaned: - Throttle Body - Air Filter Housing About the Product: It says that one quarter of it treats a full tank. So 125ml for every 55 litters. It has markings on its side so you know how much to put in, but it's hard to judge once the bottle is upside down. I have used one quarter of it, 125ml, then added about 25 litters of 95 unleaded, I still had about 15 litters in my tank. I am pretty sure it helped my car, but I'll still have to see on long term. It still seemed to choke a bit more at first, but started to perform a bit better a few days later.Read full review

I recently purchased a seven year old Mercedes A-Class as a family car that was affordable to insure for my 21 year old daughter who has just passed her test. The car has done only 40,000 miles but has spent its life based in Central London. On the basis of a TV motoring show test on a VW Corrado which gained a significant increase in MPG after Redex, I decided to give it a try. Honestly, I haven't made any before / after measurements and after one tankful of petrol (there is enough for 4 fill ups in my bottle) can detect no difference but the test referred to above convinced me that engine efficiency is likely to be improved. In any case Redex has been around a long time and is modestly priced so I'm giving it a whirl.

I'm really not sure about Redex's claims but I do seem to notice a difference in multiple bikes cold starting. And when you've got a high compression V twin that can spit back and lunch it's starter motor if it fails to crank you take all the help you can get! A cap of 2 stroke in the tank is even better but I think the emissions sensors on modern machines would throw a fit at that dirty mixture, so Redex it is.

I have used this brand for years and it does work. I recently bought an Audi A4 20T and have seen an improvement in fuel consumption and performance. The price of these two 500ml bottles works out cheaper than paying £4 per 250ml bottle at the supermarket.

Redex makes the engine run smoother. I have made HP/KW tests before and after Redex and there is a noticeable difference. Removes built-up carbon from the underside of the valves. Reduces emissions, tested it on my car before and after before MOT inspection. On my diesel Volvo which has 550.000 miles on it, I use it (the blue diesel version of redex that is) once every 70000 miles, and it takes car of the black smoke upon heavy acceleration problem. I recommend using it once between oil changes. OVERALL: Good product. Performance and emissions difference is noticeable, but don't expect the world. Generally, makes the motor run smoother.
