  • Good performance for the price.

I bought these to use for studio monitors in a small space. The sound quality is really good. Not really any cons I can find other then I do think any speaker is better if they have ports though many do not. I am a serious critic to audio quality and these passed my test. If I needed another pair I would certainly buy another.

  • Killer sound for the Price

Killer sound for what these cost replacing my old Paradigm Atom Monitors with blown old woofers thought about using the Paradigm boxes but sounds great like this I dont like the speaker wire connectors on back otherwise Id give them 5*. The sound is great they image well. Wall mount works fine but is cheep, Box is light for its size but what do you expect for 60$

  • Bookshelf speakers

I replaced a set of Infinity bookshelf speakers that I was borrowing from a friend. I am powering them with a 1961 Voice of Music tube stereo amp; so that has to be considered. These sound great, really great! They are rated 5 to 40 watts, so you don't need a ton of power to get the quality out of them. I thought they were a tiny bit harsh out of the box...the nature of my amp might have something to do with it...very detailed highs. But, I left them on and playing at a medium volume level, and the highs smoothed out after two days of that. They are great by themselves, but I paired them with a 10 inch powered sub...WOW! People walk into my office and thier jaws drop. The room is about 16 by 18, but I think these would be just as good in a room twice that size.

  • Brilliant

Flawless for the price and even for a higher price. I ordered them from Hungary, so delivery and duty costs made it a bit more expensive (cca. $100 all together), but believe me, these tiny ones sound like $300 speakers. Precise and full of life. Sweet spot is unbelievably wide. No matter where You sit on Your sofa. They create a stage of 4 meters wide in my room. The AMT tweeters gives clear and detailed sound, midrange is warm and natural. Bass is deep enough for such a small box, warm and dynamic, but not that strong. Needs to add some extra bass on the amp, and better push them on the wall (at least in my living room). Loud enough for a 25 sqm room - even when my friends show up. Sensitivity is low, so they need some power. I use them with a 2x100 watts Yamaha amp, but half the power is even enough. Tested them for one hundred hours with various music from jazz through pop-rock to electronic dance. They handled all the styles, but what they really love is the guitar and live percussions. Main vocals are clear, placed 50 cms above and 30-40 cms in front of the speakers. Ok, they don’t have a fancy look, but the sound they provide is excellent.

  • Wasn't expecting much but...

I've always been a fan of the AMT style tweeter. They seem to produce very smooth and detailed high frequencies. I saw these, read the reviews and thought I'd check them out. They are so inexpensive if they didn't pan out no big deal. They arrived on a Saturday about 2:30. I know speakers need a break in period so I hooked them up, put my receiver on 2 channel stereo mode and gave them a listen. I left the room and came back in 4 hrs. and they were a whole different speaker!! They now sounded pretty darn good!! I have have a 3.1 set up in my bedroom using a M.L. motion 6 center and I'm happy to say they gel very well with it. Honestly I'd have been happy if I paid $200 for the pair. Great mid-range, great highs and a surprising amount of bass. Great soundstage and imaging. Very airy sound. I believe the 87db sensitivity rating is a bit higher than claimed by the manufacturer. I'd put them around 89-90db. I ordered the matching center channel as I like to have matching speakers. Bottom line: If you are on the fence about these speakers just pull the trigger! Give them some time to loosen up and you will be rewarded with a great sounding speaker for dirt cheap!! Haven't listened to any music yet but for home theater surround sound I'm quite impressed. Note: I am a 56 year old audiophile who has a very discerning ear.

  • An outstanding value that gets much better with one simple modification

These are dandy little speakers within their limitations. Even though the woofer is a generous 6.5 inches in nominal diameter, there is very little deep bass and I would very strongly recommend using them with a subwoofer crossed over at 100-125 Hz if you want credible "hi-fi" performance. The little "AMT" tweeter is truly excellent -- it is wisely wired in reverse polarity with respect to the woofer, but the attenuation resistor is a bit too low in value and thus the highs are on the "hot" side -- that's pretty tolerable in a typical music listening or "home theater" room, but fatiguing for desktop and other "near field" applications. I recommend a 5 ohm resistor instead of the 3 ohm factory part -- or you can just put a 2 ohm 3-5 watt resistor in series between the tweeter and the existing resistor to fix that, which unfortunately will void the (generous 5 year!) warranty, but IMO that's well worth the risk.

  • The sound will surprise you!

I was looking for a small pair of bookshelf speakers to use in my bedroom and did not want to spend much money. A while back i found a nice vintage Sherwood receiver for a cheap price and this is what i connected these Dayton Audio B652-AIR speakers to. Let me say first, if you are looking for a speaker to play at high volume and want boomy bass this is not it .. if you want a great sounding speaker that you can play at a low to modest volume and hear details this is it ... yes the bass is lacking a bit if you get the volume turned up a bit loud but these tweeters sound amazing to my ears and the overall sound is really great. Check these out if your are looking for speakers for a budget system and want some really nice sound .. i'm sure mine will get even better once broken in as i have only had them playing about 2 hours so far.

  • Quality in small speakers

A nice balanced speakers. The AMT tweeters have a very clear sound. Playing them loud, in which I love to do. They have no distortion.

  • for the money

for only 60 dollars, brand new, I guess you get a very very good $60 speaker. I was going to try and blend them into my center channel set up, but they did not blend well. These are about 8db more efficient per watt than a more expensive bookshelf, if that is one of your priorities.
