Ultimate upgrade for a 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D
This LED upgrade conversion from either a krypton or xenon bulb is simply the best upgrade available on the market considering price, consumption of energy from cells and it's brightness. This is easy to fit and replaces an incandescent bulb. After upgrading my 4D Maglite Torch with this upgrade, I instantly noticed such a significant difference in light output and the life of the cells with in the torch. Not as revolutionary as described
I bought this bulb for my 6D Maglite. It gives a very white light as opposed to an incandescent bulb and if you shine it on the floor the whiteness does make it look brighter. Over distance however the difference is negligible. I've used both outside and compared them over distance (focussing on trees at the very furthest reaches of the beam) and there is really not that much difference. I also find that the milky beam you get from the LED doesn't light up objects quite as clearly so even if the objects are illuminated slightly more they are not clearer to the eye. I can only think that the people in the reviews who say the LED is miles better have only messed around with using it over short distances or didn't have the upgraded Xenon Magum Star incandescent bulb already.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

As Led uses lot less power batteries last lot longer

Superb and much brighter replacement.
We put our trusty MAGLITES (3 cell) away when LED torches became so cheap and light..... However, I love the Maglite design and my nephew told me about these replacements. Sure, they aren't that cheap but, boy what a bright light and easy to fit!!!!! I ordered one, just to see what they were like, and am about to order a second....... Super bright with extended battery life.
This fantastic little "bulb" brought my ancient 3D Maglite into the 21st century and gave it a new lease of life. It's a direct replacement for the old bulb - just slots straight in. Sure, it was a bit pricey when compared to the cost of an ordinary bulb but, it was a lot cheaper than buying a new Maglite! And, if you use your torch lots, then the efficiency savings with extended battery life might pay for the upgrade after a while. And wow, how bright? Get your shades on!
Got this to replace my existing blu-ish LED bulb on my 5cell maglite. The only con I have found is because of the arrangement of the LED the focus on my torch is not as tight as with a standard bulb. Saying that, I have nothing but praise for this bulb: bright - at least twice as bright as the one it replaces and don't look anywhere near it if you want to keep your night vision! Colour rendering is great, certainly better than than previous and many other LED torches I have used where the colour tends to lean towards the blue end. awesome, bright, and cold white
If you have an old maglite, you have to buy this bulb. I hated mine because the old halogen bulb's power and brightness but after i got this i just can't wait to get out after dark.
