Travelling Light
I'd been looking for a lightweight tripod, I carry a fair bit of camera gear on my trips out into the countryside as an amateur nature photographer - but also have some health issues which restrict what I can reasonably carry over some distance. I'd looked at branded carbon fibre tripods in the £200-250 price range but couldn't justify that expense - and so I sent for the Z818C after some time looking at online reviews. There were other brands at similar prices but I'd had issues with their photo products previously. The tripod is presented very nicely - decent box, and the carry bag is padded and compact. The tripod itself has all the features I was looking for clamp style fitting to hold my camera multi angle legs and a short stem so I can use it low to the ground for orchids/plants compact size when folded light weight Tripod arrived within a week, and it's been out with me on 2 trips so far - trying it with my 7D, battery grip & 150-500 lens it's been rock solid even with the legs fully extended - when the central stem is extended it loses a bit of stability but I would never use any tripod with the centre column up except my trusty SLIK 88 which is too heavy for me to take out anyway. The ball head had no problems locking steady even with the combination mentioned above, and loosening the knob to adjust position is quick, easy and locks back fast. I normally avoid taking a tripod out preferring to use monopod but now I have the Z818C I can see it will be a pretty constant companion - the ability to use one leg as a monopod is an extra bonus too. So far I'm really pleased with my purchase, and the build quality suggests I will continue to be happy with it for some time. I've attached a sample picture taken on the tripod, legs fully extended with my 7D,grip and big 500 zoom - it's a crop from the frame and I didn't use any additional weight with the tripod for this shot.

Sturdy, colourful carbon fiber tripod with great extras and features
ok love the tripod, and love the fact it comes in all these brilliant colours, I've always wanted a Carbon fiber tripod but they have been priced sky high but i got this one for just over £70 an absolute bargain. Pro's 1.Carbon fiber tridpod. 2. Sturdy...very sturdy 3.Great loading of 15-18kg 4. Mono-pod (one of the tripod legs is detachable) 5. Great extras padded bag, head cover small center column to lower the tripod right to the ground. 6. Quick release and extendable legs. 7. great extendable tripod height. 8. quick and simple to remove center column and invert it for macro photography. 9.Looks stylish and expensive cons. 1. Just a tad heavier, only slightly than i expected for a carbon tripod. 2. The Zomei branding on one of the legs isn't the best i have seen that's it, that's a quick out of the box review, haven't tried it out on the field yet i might or might not find issues with it then...but for now very happy...Zomei products are very good i think and i have some filters also...i will be buying more Zomei products in the futureVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a quality light weight carbon fibre tripod, one leg converts to a monopod which cuts down the need to carry two separate pods. It weighs just 1.5kg and is easily strapped to most backpacks. Stability is excellent and the different leg splay facility a great advantage when using large lens. This tripod made from quality materials for a longer life. Pretty stable - even in light wind. Ball head is so-so - not easy for fine adjustment. Pano action is smooth - if a little stiff. But that's probably a good thing. Needs a spirit level bubble on the plate of the tripod to set it level for panoramas. Having one on the area-swiss clamping screw is not really much use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
