Lots of features in a reasonably-priced DIY scan tool

Works great! I haven't tried it on any OBD 1 vehicles yet, but I've been happy with it on my OBD 2 cars. I needed a scanner with live data, and this one fit the bill for a very reasonable price. Best I can tell, it's a re-badged Actron CP9690. It comes with a quick-start guide, but if you want a really useful user manual, you need to download it from Bosch.

Works for OBD1 ... but poorly

Bought this only because it supported Chrysler OBD1 protocol (very few options today). It does read DTC codes and I can view live data of various engine parameters. However, it is very limited in capabilities, very slow and has no graphing (for fuel trims or O2 readings). I am constantly getting "Link failure" errors and need to restart it. It does allow you to record some data but capacity is limited. The main gripe I have though is the method to pull the data off the device on to a PC for analysis is HORRIBLE. The designers who developed this should be flogged! This seems like a VERY dated device and there are MUCH BETTER and CHEAPER solutions out there. It does give me the basics of what I needed (OBD1 data) but for any modern vehicle OBD2 scanner, I can not recommend this. BTW, it is the EXACT SAME device as the Actron 9690 Elite!

  • compact. decent tool

I'm used to using a $4000.00 snap on scanner at work so it's taking me a few minutes to figure this one out. so far, so good. I have no complaints. does exactly what I want. great at home tool. no regrets on buying it. for the price, you can't beat it

  • Great DIY Scan tool! Does a lot more than a typical erase tool.

I bought this model because the price was great and it is essentially the same as the Actron 9690. Not only does it do OBDII but also does OBDI. I have not used it on the OBDI side yet. I did use it to scan an 08 Impreza. It doesn't have anything wrong but I did run test and it is awesome!! I mainly needed this to assist in a fix for a family members 05 Jeep. More to come on that. But I like how you can see misfires and TPS voltages etc.. For the money, this can not be beat. I have not needed an SRS tool so I can not comment on the other review that says that it doesnt do it. The charging system test is worth the cost of the tool!!! Just buy it!

  • Great Value

The OBD1300 is easy to use, with concise instructions. I have three older cars, two with transplanted/aftermarket OBD-1 systems and the scanner works great with all of them/

  • *Good quality scanner*

One of the best scanners I ever used I do recommend it, easy to use easy to learn the codes off of it. You can't beat the price and the quality If the scanner !

  • Shiny & new

Good value for the price, no factory support as it is an old model. I bought it for the OBD1 functions and it served my purposes just fine.

  • Nice scanner tool for the price!

Very nice instrument, well packaged in new plastic. For my vehicle problem I need a little deeper OBD1 diagnoses.

  • Best of both worlds.

Used Bosch on OBD2 2004 Priuss , came up with same codes as factory OBD2 reader and used on 1990 Bronco 302 engine read codes and also did diagnostic tests. WORKS PERFECT. Excellent value for your money.

  • Mixed Results on Bosch Code Reader

I bought it to read codes on an OBD-I '93 Corvette, but although the OBD-I adapter fit it would not pull the codes. It did work on newer cars, but even then would give a repeated "turn key off and turn back on after 10 seconds" command, though ignoring the command and just hitting enter would bring the codes up.
