Fully capable tool of excellent quality
After completing 30 crimps with this tool, I've found it to work very reliably with several different terminal styles. It is easy to feel the crimp and get a good sense of feedback through the tool. I really like the stepped die widths, so larger terminals even within the same die have a wider crimping depth in the jaw. Only downside is that it doesn't crimp both the wire and insulating part of the terminal in a single action—though that would make it a more limited tool. I found the dies especially easy to switch out with the included allen key.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

High Precision Crimper:
I grade this crimper on top of all: Easy to crimp, remove dies & stow. Its very comfortable, never-release crimp, crimp lug well-shaped. I have been searching for the best non-insulated crimper for several year. I have seen bought from e-bay & trademe 18 different crimper but found all of them have some disadvantage. All disadvantages have been eliminated in this crimper. Say for example: European type - double crimper with locking system. I had to break open the crimper when I tried to crimp over-sized cable. Both now in rubbish bin. Other single crimper type: they do not crimp well. They have wide gaps between the dies. Lugs sometimes get stuck after crimping. I have to remove them pushing with something like screwdriver. Sometimes they damages the lug, and so on .... Not exaggerating; this the best one. Only thing is that you have to crimp two times. I don't thing that is a problem, in this concern that double crimpers sometimes misses; you have to crimp again. To me: it is excellent; top of all crimper. Crimps look like OEM
I have many dedicated crimpers for Molex, etc. Very annoying. I decided to try universal crimper, and i narrow search to Japanese brands Engineer & Hozan. This kit by Engineer makes tight, factory looking crimps with all terminals I've tried to date. However, I give 4 stars, not 5, due to one annoying issue I've discovered: as you get closer to pivot, jaws close unevenly, rather than perfectly square. As the angle of jaws becomes more and more acute, you must be careful not to distort terminal ears. This is NOT a deal breaker, but you must pay attention. The only solution, i think, is to have some kind of compound action to keep jaws square; but then you are back to carrying the ridiculously expensive OEM crimpers. So, i do recommend this kit for repairs and prototyping. The issue with the jaw angle is most noticeable on the innermost space with thick insulation, but crimps fine if you pay attention.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poorly designed
I have been impressed by this brand before so when I found a crimper by engineer I thought I would try it. The changeable dies are way too thin to make a solid crimp and the small size dies have an extra piece of metal for extra support that makes it impossible to use.
