The menu settings are complex - and generally known to be - so it takes some time and regular references to the manual and to YouTube tutorials to get it to do exactly what you want. Once you’ve mastered it, it’s the best value full-frame camera that I have come across! Generally, I am delighted with it - for what I want. The A7 is getting on a bit now and there are more up to date iterations with more features and much higher prices... so, I would say that it’s not a camera for a beginner, but it fills a gap in my camera bag as an extremely small and lightweight full-frame camera for every day use. My other full-frame camera is a real heavyweight with equally big and heavy lenses. This one will fit easily in my case when I go on my travels and will cope with most situations. Similarly, the kit lens -28 - 70 is not the best, but more than good enough for what I need for the foreseeable future.Read full review

This camera has high image quality with a 24MP - Full frame CMOS Sensor, 5 fps continuous shooting and a Weather Sealed Body and remember it is a full frame camera this is what made we want to use one. To me this camera was slightly annoying because it does not have touch screen as I am used too also it has no image Stabilisation.

The A7 is almost as compact and light as APS-C cameras but provides the amazing shallow depth of field capabilities you can only get with a full frame setup. It's not the last word in sports photography but for portrait, landscape and street photography there is nothing much to compete at this price point with the full frame benefits. The image quality is fantastic provided you master the focusing and Sony are consistently voted highest for colour reproduction in blind tests. Sony also now have some good value third party lenses available so you don't have to spend a fortune to have good glass anymore.

I read some negative comments in reviews about the A7 - loud shutter, forget it it's not problem. Poor focus in low light - it's better than my Olympus e-m1. Complicated menu - it's not bad, you would get used to it, no worse than Olympus. The things that annoy me aew - image quality is good but not a big improvement od Canon 7D MkII or Olympus E-M1. You can get moire effect in large areas of one colour like skies because the gradation between tones is not smooth. Battery life is poor.

Image quality and white balance is so much better than my old APS-C camera. It's not a massive body but, competes with DSLRs of the same era such as D750, 810 etc. Can't believe full frame was this inexpensive. I can now start to build a modest lens collection and save my pennies for future body upgrades but really don't feel the need for that at this time.
