    Great product

This is a great bit of kit if you are wanting to strip down pallets for fire word or other products. It is not that heavy but the handle is just the right length to give you a lot of power at the business end. I would recommend this product to anyone who has pallets to strip or any other type of deconstruction work.

Could be better, tine will tell (pun intended).

This device is good at breaking up pallets if you don't want to re use the wood. However, lifting the planks in order to keep them whole is more of a tricky task to achieve. I have found that the tines need to be longer to slide under most of the plank being prised. As it is due to the way it (the breaker) is made and where the heel sits, the tines sit further back and away from the plank being lifted. So therefore, when levering only the first third of the wood gets lifted and then splits against the resistance of the remaining nails. I understand the need of a pivot/fulcrum point yet the tine length could be much longer in order as not to split the plank. It's useful and does the job-sort of, I had greater expectations, but ultimately ended up disappointed hence the three star rating.

  • save time save boards saves fingers

if you like myself break pallets to use there timber you are saving on raw materials. i used to break pallets the old way hammer bolster chisel and plenty of elbow grease not to mention skinned knuckles and bruises. i delayed purchasing this item for too long and regret it. simple to use, just hook under the boards rest on the spar and lever down, it with a little pressure applied lifts the boards and straightens the nails holding them dow2n with ease. its easy to store saves broken boards a pleasure to use, it will pay for its self in no time.

  • Strength of ten men!

Was very sceptical about these bars but going through hours of killing myself with crowbars and splitting and ruining most of the pallets...felt I had no other option! I'm very impressed..Yes I still get the occasional splits and damage but can fly through pallets which would have taken me hours. There's good leverage with plenty of power if used correctly. Purchase one...you won't be disappointed

  • Really handy bit of kit

I bought this to break up pallets but have also used it to lift heavy slabs and also found it makes getting metposts out of the ground a doddle, I’m a 65yr old 5ft 3” woman and got 5 metposts out in about 20 minuets no hole digging they just levered up with this bar with very little effort. I’m sure it will have many more uses in the future.

  • Roughneck lifting bar-gain

So pleased I bought one, as I decided to extend my shed on the cheap as covid19 closed all DIY stores, and we are on lockdown so wood supplies were not available and as my place of work have pallets I thought I would try and use them but it was hard work taking the pallets apart until I bought the Roughneck now no time wasted on breaking pallets apart and my exstention is well now a bit bigger, nice

  • Pallet stripping made easy

This tool has made the struggles of pallet stripping a thing of the past. It's a must for every home recycler who uses pallet wood for projects. A perfect tool for anyone like me who suffers from the occasional lower back pain as it removes the necessity for bending and lifting. I highly recommend this product.

  • Universal Lever/breaking bar.

Very fast to dismantle pallets, lift floorboards with minimal damage. the design supports the boards well and far easier than a conventional crowbar which puts all the force on a small area. The bar seems very strongly made good welds, forged prongs, and solid handle. Used this to dismantle 50+ pallets in record time with less damage than hammer and crowbar method. Still need other tools to pull the nails though. Chose this as seemed much better made than some versions made from box section mild steel at same price....A longer handle would allow greater force but obviously at greater weight. Resonable balanced designed by someone who has thought about making a good useful tool.

  • Excellent tool for what it does

Very well made, strong welds and a good weight to it. Works well with most pallets I have tried it with. It is not a one tool solution though, I use it it in combination with a crow bar and claw hammer to tackle the outer straps and to deal with nail extraction. If just using the tool to break up the pallets, then it is fine on its own, if you want to save the wood you will need a little more care. Not the tool's fault, just the nature of pallets.

  • pallet muncher

When I brought this tool , My husband said it was a waste of money......It is now his favourite tool and I hardly get to use it! It breaks up pallets with ease and with a little practice , little damage to the wood. certainly speeds up the job . love it.
