Nuisance calls
As long as you have all your known callers (up to 200) on your contacts they will get through as normal. However, if you miss anyone out they will be diverted to give Name before being "allowed" through to you. Updating your contacts on an ongoing basis is essential. Call blocker is excellent and adding unwanted callers to your block list is very simple. The full user guide is a formidable document to say the least. Start with the quick guide and tackle each option on a one by one basis - otherwise you had better set aside a some considerable time to tackle the 82 pages. Overall a very effective call blocker with many features that most people will not use. - Great value for money and after 6 months has reduced unwanted calls to less than 1 a day on average. Technology better than hardware
I love that I can block nuisance calls and I can easily save incoming or outgoing call numbers for future use. I had a previous BT set which had lost these features although it worked OK. The ringtone on my older set was much better than this one which sounds a bit 'tinny'. The handsets are also not as sturdy as my previous ones and quite slippery to hold or when replacing in the stands. I would have rated it 3.5 but no rating available between 3 and 4. Best price I had found for the same product. It is the usual thing they dumb down things like the handsets and ringtones just so they are different from before without any advantage to the user.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good build quality and very easy and intuitive menu system
....Since installing this phone we have had no intrusive marketing calls whatsoever ! All intrusive calls from the PPI sellers and "Repair your computer" scammers are totally blocked and the phone doesn't even annoy us by ringing ! The "Call Blocking" system is brilliant ....even if the scammers change any of the digits in their originating contact number ...the menu on this phone allows you to even block the area"PREFIX" codes these pests use ..so even if they change any of their numbers ..they can still be prevented from annoying you ... If they do get through ...a simple press on the dedicated "X" button . will mark their call as unwanted ..and prevent further annoyance ! The Cost of Children
The Seller: So as you could understand, I have paid a lot less then half price for this phone and of course would expect the phone to be of reasonable quality, but when it arrived I was more shocked then surprised. It was housed in the original box and while I could continue on and on, let’s just say, I felt like I was unpacking a new one. The only one possible issue I could have had was a lack of an instruction manual and in its place a printed piece of paper. The Product: The phone is nice looking, the keys response well to touch, the screen is easy to read and the menu system is easy to use. The initial setup of the phone once plugged in, took me no more then about 15 minutes, I had to Google a couple of things on my mobile phone which was easy, the longest part was entering the names and numbers into the phone which has no bearing on this review as its standard practice on any phone. I brought this phone mainly for one reason, my eldest daughter’s ability to run up a very large phone bill ringing her girlfriend and I needed a phone that could give me peace of mind. Once you set up the pin you can pick from a number of options of which types of numbers to block, I choose them all. My wife quite rightfully was worried “What if we are out and they need to contact us?” (My eldest daughter is 17 and occasionally baby sits for us, NOTE, that’s how are bill got run up, she ran out of credit and decided to use our home phone), so I explained to her what the VIP menu was about. It allows you to add numbers from the phonebook to it which bypasses the lock, so in our case, my mobile, my wife’s, our children’s Nan and Granddad and their older brother, so although everyone else’s numbers are off the cards, the numbers she would ring in an emergency are not. It has a call screening feature, an answer phone and call blocker, answer the call, find out it’s a sales call, hit the button, call blocked, simple. The Phone: The phone in my opinion, looks nice, good features, feels well built (although I haven’t owned it that long) and if you have a child like mine, will save you a lot of money and give you peace of mind. The Seller: The phone is second hand but looks brand new, come in its original box, which looks brand new too, possibility the only downside was not a full instruction manual, but I am not sure if as brand new one does come with one anyway and to be honest, don’t care, not for the price I paid and the quality I got.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Does what it says on the box

Brilliant!!
Within a week I have managed to get rid of all my bogus calls. It blocks everything out of the box with BT Guardian which means each caller has to press a few buttons to get through. Happy so far
Bought so that I don't need to subscribe to my provider's Voicemail service. Only need to enter contacts in the phonebook once, on previous models had to do this on each handset. Have not used the call blocking so far, the nuisance calls I get show as coming from a variety of landline numbers which turn out to be invalid numbers.
