I bought it mostly for the promise of fine image quality & low-light ability and it hasn't disappointed. It will deliver comfortably at high iso levels, as per the hype. Iso12800 is not an issue; I have keepers taken at iso 20,000 + I use it mainly with a 60mm micro nikkor as a walk-around and the image quality is breathtaking. If you've taken a good photo n the first place, the Df does it justice. Heck, it even makes rubbish photos look good, it simply does the best with the light you let in. This is special. It divides opinion sure enough but I'd challenge any naysayer to be left with no option but to use it for a month or two and then dismiss it out of hand. Many won't like the layout, but check those spectacular pictures.
