  • Worst Bluetooth mouse I have ever bought

I got a new HP laptop with built in Bluetooth 4.0 and wanted a wireless mouse to take advantage of this technology to get rid of the wireless dongles that other wireless mice use. So I got the Razer orochi 2013. I have other Razer products and they are good. But this one is not. In Bluetooth mode the cursor moves erratically on the screen that makes it very difficult to use while browsing and unusable while gaming. On the other hand using the same surface (Razer Goliathus Pad) but this time using the USB cable it works great. It does not have the problems that are visible with wireless mode. It is a real pity because I like the size and feel of the mouse but the lack of support and fixes for the wireless problems makes this mouse not good, especially if you need a purely wireless device.

  • Promising - but major shortcomings on Mac

I heard so much good stuff about this mouse, and I really wanted to like it, but in all probability - I'll be selling it. In theory it should be great, very accurate/responsive for gaming (I use it for 3D design work, far less demanding) portable, lightweight, 7 programmable buttons, and Bluetooth. I could liberate my 2nd USB port on my Mac! It works without the Razer drivers, and it's okay. It works with a number of other 3rd party mouse drivers. The fundamental problem is that the cursor skips while in wireless mode. This in effect makes the mouse almost unusable under Bluetooth. So on the Mac, you either accept the behaviour or use the cable. No exactly what anyone would expect. The second problem is that the power-saving mode is a bit too enthusiastic and turns the mouse off after a fairly short time. The auto-reconnect works fine, but there is a delay. These issues are documented on the web, but I should have researched more carefully before I bought it. It's not a mouse for Mac users. If the issues were fixed (they won't be) it would be great, and on the PC I guess it's fine. Mac users stay away - this is too frustrating. The Logitech MX Anywhere mouse is much better. It's not Bluetooth, but it does almost everything else better.
