This is a replacement 'L shaped' connector for the 60W MagSafe adapter, the adapter that works with the MacBook Pro (older models also) and recharges the laptop's lithium polymer battery, even while it's turned off or in sleep mode. Does the trick
This replacement cable is almost like the original - the cable is slightly shorter but otherwise looks and functions the same. If you are reasonably competent at repairing things and soldering then it is an easy job to install and will save you a lot of money on a new charger if it's just the cable that's damaged. There are youtube videos showing what to do but I'd suggest saving a lot of effort and reducing the chance of damage to the circuitry by: after opening up the charger block, instead of prising up the foil shielding and desoldering the old, and soldering the new cable onto the circuit board, instead: simply cut the old coloured cable wires that come off the circuit board off as long as possible (i.e. where they go into the inside of the rubbery base block that the long grey cable of your old damaged cable comes out of) and soldering the new cable wires onto the ends of those - inline joints. Use heat shrink tubing to electrically insulate the joints. There is enough space to tuck these (now longer) wires inside the charger.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It works for replacing cable.
The cable was good enough to replace my T cable MagSafe 1 with L shape MagSafe 1 cable. The difference is the black and white wire is thinner and than the original. So when i replace mine the new wire can pass through the hole of the electronic board. You need shrinking cable sleeves to make the wire stay in place.
