It is a great scientific series, and it is typical of the BBCs thoughtlessness that some episodes were not preserved. It is the kind of factual based drama which we need today to look at the various types of pollution and its causes, such as plastic waste and the irresponsible attitude of British supermarkets who still promote the sale of plastic bags in spite of the governments attempts a few years ago to reduce the numbers in circulation by imposing a charge for them. Sadly the BBC has made no attempt to improve the picture quality of the series on the DVD collection and it is odd that series 1 can be found on YouTube in perfect quality! A very interesting series.

Doomwatch. Blast from the past Obviously its of it day with a limited budget, but stars like Robert Powell and other make it a good watch. Its was ahead of its time with many episodes looking at Ecological issues that were just not on the radar in those days. The premise would make for a great reboot.

Good series, unfortunately seems to have been edited from the broadcast version which was much more scary.
