They are great as a visual aims when you are explaining numbers. The kids use counting blocks in school. As they are not ‘lego’ there is a dichotomy in playing and learning. My daughter could not grasp ‘who has more who has less’. The counting blocks were the breakthrough. Drawings did not get us anywhere. They are versatile. So we always use them. The curriculum has integrated a level of Singapore maths which is very visual. Counting blocks help.

I think the size should be highlighted and made more clear I ordered the larger size ones before and didn’t realise how small 1 cm is. My son lost a few of them so I couldn’t exchange them. Also u have to make sure u don’t leave ur child unattended as could be dangerous. The larger ones are much better

Although a bit fiddly for little fingers I wanted the cubes to help a child struggling with subtraction using decomposition to visualise and understand what she was doing. They proved to be motivational and also seem to be helping her understanding.

Bought these cubes to use as an ice breaker during a team building breakfast meeting - colour selected determines your task. The fact that there were actually 10 of each colour was positive as I had bought others that were a random mix but had too many of one colour and not enough of another! I have a four year old grandson so blocks will also double as the intended counting blocks to aid his learning.

I have been using these cubes with adults with learning disabilities to help them to measure and transfer measurements in a wood work class. The bright colours make them easy to distinguish and as they interlock they can make their own measuring stick and "move" the measurement to their own wood. Its made a big difference to the class to be able to make their own "rulers" and count up the blocks rather than have to read tiny number on other measuring equipment.
