The cable is very long (20 metres), which was necessary for my purposes. With a Logitech webcam connected, the camera was quickly recognised by my security software (Blue Iris on Windows 7), but the image often disappeared, sometimes within a few seconds, followed by a message "device not connected". I tried the cable on another computer (Windows 10), but with the same results. It could have been a data problem, but I figured it might equally relate to the supply voltage; perhaps there was not quite enough for the camera at the far end. I found that with the camera connected at the far end, the voltage there was only just over 4 volts instead of the required 5v. So the cable was losing near 1 volt over its length with the current drawn. I hoped therefore that restoration of the proper 5 volts would bring reliability. Inserting a spare USB hub (powered with a steady 5 volts from a spare USB phone charger) between the webcam and the long lead, did the trick. The lead handles the data well, and performance is now reliable.Read full review
