Flimsy buckle and face plant disaster.
Massive Ickle Bubba fan, we used the Stomp V3 for my daughter, and that prompted us to buy the Aurora. It’s lightweight and the frame is durable, it is super easy to fold and so small it fitted in my mum’s Jazz with room for shopping on girly days out, and in my giant Jeep with my friends twins double buggy without any problem at all. Unfortunately, however, that’s all the real positives. The back is SO short I can’t imagine an age where a child can sit up, and not have their head poking over the top. By the time my daughter started using hers, around 13 months, her head cleared the back support.
The back support is flimsy, too. It doesn’t seem secured or steady. The straps easily came off the shoulders (third baby- I’ve had enough practise fitting straps in all manner of prams and car seats that I know how to do this properly), and on one school run, the central buckle opened my daughter landed face first on the playground concrete. that was the day the Aurora went in the cupboard of no return, can’t even bring myself to give it away as I would never live down the guilt of knowing it’s unsafe.
I’m not a generally negative reviewer, I mostly write positive reviews about products I love and constructive reviews about products I didn’t. I also decide if my opinion is objective or subjective, so please don’t presume I’m just trying to worry owners of this pushchair!
I think my concerns are justified, and therefore I will make it clear that I would avoid the Aurora at all costs.
However, irrelevant as it may be here; the Stomp is a fantastic travel system, can’t sing its praises enough, and we will buy it again for number four!
