Birds never looked better!
I lost two birds, both tropical finches, in quick succession to bird mites. I am now half way through the four week treatment plan and although I still find some, there seem to be very few left. You must complete the full treatment as mites will keep hatching due to the eggs being resistant to everything. In addition, you have to eradicate them from the environment, which means boil washing soft furnishings if in your house, disinfecting and mite spraying surfaces and hoovering constantly. Jet wash all cages and thoroughly clean perches, toys etc. Mites hide in these so check regularly. All in all a nightmare and I will be treating my birds with s76 three monthly from now on as a preventative measure. They are absolutely buzzing now, never looked healthier so the stuff is clearly more than just a treatment for parasites! Expensive but worth the money.
