Good value book. Pity about the contents
I am a great fan of John le Carre having read many of his novels. I happened to come upon a film version of the Night Manager on Amazon Prime and having really enjoyed thought that I would read the book. Got a copy off e bay which as good as new. Exceptional value. However the book is nothing like the film which I know is not in itself unusual but in this case it really is NOTHING like the film. The whole story is different. Different settings, different locations, different characters….almost different everything. While the film is really excellent with a good and believable story line, tight characters and a fast moving and believable plot this can not be said about the book which is rambling, over long and has, to my way of thinking a very unsarisfactory ending. Very disappointing BUT and excellent value purchase yet again from eBay.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
