Openbox V8S
We bought the box to use on our fishing trawler. Signal is from a gyro stabilised satellite dish. It works very well with all the inputs we need. Picture quality is good and all free channels are available. There is a card slot but we haven't explored that yet. The only niggle is that the controls are fiddly lack the features and take a bit of getting used to, compared to the sky box that it replaced. Unfortunately the instruction manual, although comprehensive in a Chinenglish way, shows a different controller to the one supplied so we've had to work a lot of it out for ourselves. I'm not over impressed with the program guide but its barely adequate. For the price I would say it's good valueVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Open Set top Box
Hard to use with a poor instruction book. Keeps breaking down and turning itself off. Will not record or play back, even when you use a good quality memory stick with the right bit rate. Composite Connectivity is a complete joke for something that is supposed to be modern. EPG is a complete joke. 8 Day program guide is none existent. Easy to install - plug and play
I have only just installed the openbox as I bought it for my 92 year old father. It was easy to install and the picture quality is very good. Made me a few quid
Ever since I got my own openbox in 2015 I have gone in to sell at least 25 to friends, family and friends if friends. No problem as if yet with any of the boxes. On issues has been the codes (gifts) running out. But source a good seller for the codes and all is good. Great HD picture for HD. Channels available. It's the cheapest box avaliable, there are others which are better but are more expensive. At the end of the day I get all the channels I want for a good price. Use a USB and get the 7 day TV guide and also recored, pause and rewind etc. I'm happy and if you use it correctly you will love it too.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not worth for money
I bought this item having read the description but I did not get what I expected , It was very hard to find channels .I have wasted lot of time for tuning and also wasted money to buy digital indoor antenna and an amplifier separately . unfortunately non of those worked . This digital box gets very weak signals via my original satellite dish but my old sky box at least gets few freeview channels from same dish , so my experienced is SKY box is better and not complicated. than openbox V8S ..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
