Loved reading this compelling and excruciatingly addictive book. It keeps you wanting, and waiting in anticipation. The not knowing, the before and after facts but not the exact moment. Too many characters. Kept having to go back to see who they were. Unbelievable plot re woman lived with a murderer husband for 20 years or so without making an effort to find out the reason for his behaviour. Overall, this book keeps you gripped from chapter to chapter - what is Cecilia's husband's secret? It turns out maybe there are a lot more things people have hidden throughout. Some acute observations of human nature and a quirkily written, this book is a good read - Louis de Bernier, P D James, Orhan Pamuk, it ain't, but if you're looking for a satisfying lighter holiday read, you can't go far wrong with this book.
