Tony Woods was one of Australia's most exciting young artists in the late 1960s. Originally from Tasmania, he enthralled Melbourne audiences with a series of dazzling exhibitions before travelling to New York on a Harkness Scholarship. There, in the midst of increasing success, Woods met with a major personal artistic tragedy which forestalled his career.
