Shreds small branches well
It works for small branches. I haven't gone too near 1 inch diameter, just to be safe.
First, I sort out the branches into small enough pieces, and fairly straight.
(Guess that if they're not straight, they could become trapped).
The 'feeder' is very useful - crucial really. I use it all the time to force the branches down.
Sometimes branches get a bit stuck, but I've always managed to dislodge them with the feeder.
I've never had to open the shredder up and clear it.
It is still ready to run, after about 5 sessions - a sack of branches each time.
It feels like quite a slow process, especially when branches get stuck.
One sack of branches takes quite a long time, including the preparation, trimming & sorting.
You can't just empty a sack in. You've got to feed the branches in carefully.
Perhaps it's because I'm being so careful.
It does turn the branches into compostable shreds.
It's very loud, have to wear ear muffs.
It's a big machine to have to find a place for. It must be kept under shelter.
Would it be less trouble to take the sacks to re-cycling? Not sure.
