Visual and Auditory Feast
Scorsese working with an uncredited Spielberg is a brilliant match. Freddie Francis really delivers a superb visual look and the adaptation of Herrmann’s powerful music by Elmer Bernstein is outstanding! Cleverly incorporating portions of the rejected Torn Curtain score, also by Herrmann. The performances by all cast members are terrific and it’s a nice touch featuring members from the original B movie.
