Good quality for DIY at the right price.
Roller is good quality for general DIY gardening. However assembly instructions are pretty useless , but it doesn't take a smarty to work out how to put roller together. One thing to watch out for , is that its very easy to accidentally push the silicon plug straight thru into the roller - so push in gently. Looks good but that's all
This roller is all wrong. The bung for the hole is to flimsy. The handles are too tight against the roller. When you put the cross bar on it is about 10 mm to short which makes the handle rub against the drum. I had to do a lot of work to make it usable. I should of sent it back really but after reading the site reviews decided it would be less hassle to repair myself. Not everybody will have the tools to do the repairs. Easy to handle
This is a solidly constructed, all-steel roller with bolt-on handles which can't spring off like some other types. It's easier to fill with water - maybe with a bit of bleach in it to stop it going too smelly when you decide to empty it! Obviously the paint will quickly come of the roller face if you use it for stone, grit or sand but that's why you'll see most rollers unpainted. Just spray a bit of oil / WD40 or anything you fancy to stop it getting too rusty when you stow it away. The rust will come off next time you use it (Look at park rollers). It's always best to oil any steel garden tools, even if they are zinc-plated (often wrongly labelled as "galvanised"). I'm 6'-2" tall and aged 70 and find it a comfortable height for use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Highly Recommend It.
Filled with 30 litres of water equivalent to 30 kilos the roller is surprisingly easy to manoeuvre. In addition to the 4 x 40mm bolts in the parts list there are 2 slightly shorter bolts, (not mentioned) these are used to secure the scrapper blade to the handle. I have found that the filler plug need only be hand tight as it can be easily over tightened causing the O ring washer to become distorted resulting in a leak.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Did it's job, but only just!
Wanted a roller to prepare a small lawn. Chose this one because of steel construction. Filled it with sand and it was heavy enough to use. The handle construction however, was very light and flimsy and snagged the side of the roller on one side, making it harder to pull and it 'slid' rather than rolled occasionally. Managed to complete the job I bought it for at a fairly cheap cost, but will need to find a new handle arrangement if I need to use it regularly. Large Mrtal Lawn Roller
Does the job of flattening the earth ready for seeding, but the cylinder is slightly off, and was rubbing the frame therefor stopping it from turning. I removed the scraper which resolved this. For the money I'm happy with my purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Definately "Heavy" Duty
Unlike other water/sand fillable lawn rollers, this roller is made of steel rather than plastic, so carries some weight even when empty. It arrived really quickly and all the contents were present and correct. The assembly instructions were a bit basic, with the drawing detail leaving some elements to trial and error. Some of the components don't fit quite as neatly as the instructions suggest (the scrape bar for instance fits against a round edged upright on one side but an indented one on the other), but I got it together with a wrench and large screwdriver in about 20 minutes and, despite the minor cosmetics, it looks sturdy and functional. It certainly has a solid feel to it and I'm sure it will do the job of helping to level the lawn.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does the job!
Easy to build(no instructions included) Leave the handles loose until you’ve fitted the separator bar though, as it’s a tight fit. I’ve seen other reviews say the plug falls into the barrel, they must have changed the plug as there’s no way the plug I got would go through the hole. Don’t Bother
Put this together, even though there are no instructions? The bung for the roller is a flimsy rubber, which leaks. The handle for the roller only have one bolt either side, which distorts when you push it with any weight whatsoever in the drum. Filled mine with water and only got a couple of uses from it....
