Great hardware but software is out of date

I would have totally given this a five star but for one reason it’s blue tooth comparability shipping was great value for cost above and beyond and quality of controller once connected was beyond expectations but just as I said once connected because the app is a ghost app that the controller was made for but with a little smarts and research you can be using this controller on a variety of emulators but please don’t be like me and buy games in the moga pivot app before testing the controller on some of the free games in the app with your phone and the controllers comparability with eachother other then that great buy and would buy it again

  • Most critical review

    Small and portable

This wireless bluetooth controller is not that bad of a controller. I would recommend this product as a gift to gamers who like to play a lot of games on their phones. I've been using it for about 2 days and it has been the most helpful solution to my gaming needs. It's sleek design fits into your pockets and bags for on-the-go use. Now there are positive points to this controller and some bad so here are some of the good. It's nice compact shape can let anyone's hand; big or small, to hold the controller comfortably and offers a nice mat grip on the bottom. I also love the hinge that holds up the phone so that it feels your playing a whole new system. It's a pretty nice controller in my opinion, but there are several things wrong with it that I must say in this review. First, the A,B,X,Y buttons are way too "clicky" and it can be hard to play fighting, racing, and adventure games that would be able to be played better when the buttons are not that "clicky" but not really the L and R buttons, they have the right amount of "clickyness" to them. Now for the control sticks, They are nice but they feel a little tight and can be hard to turn in some games. Over all it's a good controller but it could use some improvements and can make a great gift.

  • Is not compatible with Lollipop or Marshmallow devices.

It works fine for emulators and my old Pre-Lollipop device. But on my Samsung S5 only works with select titles, sometimes. I can get it to work a bit better using the Moga universal drivers from the playstore. Also the "free" games that come with a new controller purchase are not available anymore. Tried to contact Moga with no response. Unless you have an older device, or use emulators I do not recommend this for normal device play. Great Deal for older phones and emulator useage.

  • Quality, well designed controller at this price point but hard to pair

It's obvious a lot of thought went into this controller. It holds my SG8+ phone well, feels solid and comes with a nice leather carrying bag. As great as it looks and feels, there are some big gotchas: After downloading the Moga app and attempting to pair several times, I was unsuccessful. A search on the web shows that many people have tried this and many never figured it out. I eventually found a thread on Moga's site explaining that I might have to pair manually through Android bluetooth and select a different name that the device can show up as. This info was not in the user manual. Even then it took me around 10 retries to get the device to show up in the device list so that I could pair with it. Another thing is that it only works with games bought from Moga. You will need to purchase some games you might already have to use with it. There is a 3rd party software that is supposed to get around this limitation. I haven't had any luck with it yet. All things aside, it's cheap enough that the risk is worth it if you have much technical expertise to get it working with 3rd party apps or don't mind buying games through Moga. Especially considering alternatives can be way more expensive.

  • Almost perfect pocket controller

I love this pocket size moga controller and the price blow me away. Upon testing it out on a classic Mario game, I wish the left joystick is actually a controller joystick found on most Playstation controllers, buts its not. It's like a large button found on your jacket. It get slippery when your hand get sweaty, making navigating feel like a slippery slope. I moved left but the controller would make my character go into duck down mode instead. To be honest, this almost perfect controller is ruined by the small joystick button, and I feel that the controller have enough room to fit a bigger joystick that's comfortable for everyone. Suggestion to the developers: I would remove the joystick on the right and swap the start, select and power buttons there. Why? Because I don't think anyone would play their first person shooter on their pocket size controller. They're most likely use it to play casual games while they're waiting in line. Anyway, I'll be sticking to my old Bluetooth controller that actually have a real joystick. It look like a ps2 controller through but a bit bulky. I hope my suggestions can help make that almost perfect controller a dream come true. My only wish is having an actual joystick. Cheers

  • Can't beat it for the price

Very responsive... works well with my old nes-psx emulators...only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the fact that you have to install the moga app in order for it to work. When you go to use it instead of automatically syncing to Bluetooth, you have to launch the app to turn it on, but... again, for the price...no biggie!

  • Mostly great

It's pretty good, the value of the case is great, and it's really easy to set up and use. After putting your iPhone in it, you can lock the case to prevent it from accidently falling and prevent rocking. It charges at a moderate speed and you battery lasts a very long time when you are not using the charging feature. The charging feature allows the case to charge your phone while you play however, it very rapidly depleates the battery of the case and does not last long. The finger joystick pads are pretty responsive and sensitive but not the best for first person shooters, and finally, the buttons and triggers/bumpers work well but there is a noticeable dead zone. You have to push then harder especially if you're used to higher quality controllers like Ps4 or Xbox 1 controllers. Overall it's great, the only major note is that the buttons need to be pressed harder and takes some getting used to.

  • No Worth your money

Can't play any games from their very small catalog that they have a "moga" supported game. it is easy to set up but it also gives me often lost connection from the controller when launching a game from catalog always had to use virtual controls. It would be great to see it support emulators

  • Connects but has flaws

It great condition but after i connect it to my phone galaxy note 8. It connect to blutooth but the controls only works for moga games. But even after i download a moga game, the controls no work for it, at all. It only works when i am on the moga pivot app, so i can move controls up, down, left, right, etc. But when i playing a game, controls no work no more. I only tried on dungeon hunter game though. Mainly i wanted to play PUBG. lol

  • Just a cappy controller

The design is entirely too small, there are only two games worth playing with this and even so the joysticks don't move smoothly at all its alot like trying to play with a controller that's had soda dumped on it, the battery life is decent, the phone Holder is angled too far forward so it can only be played while laying down or hunched over, overall don't get this model
