The best shovel in the world.
I have owned this shovel for about 13 years and it has been used for tasks that other shovels would not survive doing, such as digging out tree roots and rocks. The one I owned, however, recently succumbed to a fire, which softened the steel enough to where it can't be used for the tough tasks anymore. I was worried that I would not be able to replace it, but Fiskars is still offering this wonderful shovel and I purchased it. Every now and then one finds a really good tool--this is one of those tools. I had other digging shovels with fiberglass and wood handles and will own those again, but they will be used for the lighter jobs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Might be the most durable shovel ever
An exceptionally well engineered tool at an entry level price point. I was about to buy a 100 dollar shovel when I found the Fiskars. Its heavier than normal shovels but the metal oval shaped handle means it probably will never break. I thought the scoop was a bit small at first sight but size and shape seems ideal in use. Very nice
I an an irrigation service person. Positive aspects, strong, big foot area, correct angles of blade and handle. Negative would be heavy, black handle gets hot in sun and everyone wants to borrow it. Ultimate Digging Tool

Can you dig it?
Time will tell, but this seems to be the best shovel of this type I've owned. I use a shovel to dig and as a lever (not intended purpose) for digging up small shrubs. I've broken my share of wooden handles and this seems like a great improvement as long as I don't bend the steel handle.
