Product Information

The Alesis DM10 X electronic drum kit is a six-piece percussion set that will allow you to dominate the stage. Though the Alesis DM10 X is an electronic kit, it’s laid out the same way as a traditional drum set.The chrome-plated XRack is made of steel, and it features customized hinges for quick release when you need it. The snare drum stand can be easily adjusted. This enables you to find the position that works best for your individual style of play. A high-hat pedal trigger comes with this Alesis kit, too. Cymbal arms are completely integrated into the system. You can convert them to boom or straight stands depending upon your preference. If you prefer to use Yamaha cymbals with your Alesis DM10X set, you can easily integrate them into this kit. If you want to customize these electronic drums further, the RealHead drums can be modified with a real mesh conversion. This combination of kick pads, snares, and tom-toms is enhanced by your electronic drum set’s high-definition audio system. The combination produces great acoustics. Drumheads and pads are made of Mylar and are extremely responsive to touch. The electronic component also has a sensitivity adjustment knob that can amplify the sounds of your heads. To get optimal acoustics from your snares and tom-toms, make sure the Crosstalk trigger settings aren’t set too high. The drum sound module contains an archive of more than 1,000 uncompressed drum, cymbal, and other percussion sounds. If these aren’t enough for you, it’s easy to connect the set to your computer using a USB connector. This will allow you to add even more sounds to your repertoire. The power switch is on the lower left of the back of the module of your electronic drum kit. You’ll also see numerous input ports for connecting the drums, beaters, kick pedals, and other accessories. For best acoustic results, if you’re using a mesh kick pad with this Alesis kit, pair it with a plastic, wood, or metal kick pedal. You can connect this unit to an amplifier or speakers using either the main output or auxiliary output ports. There’s a headphone jack, too, if you’d like to use the unit with headphones. The front of the DM10X electronic component has an LCD screen monitor. The monitor allows you to access the controls you’ll be using. Note that it is write-protected as a default. To save changes, you can turn the write-protection off. The other configurations that you may want to try with your DM10X set are easily accessible through user-friendly menu options. Playing around with those menus and editing acoustics in your home studio will allow you to create some great tracks.

  • Good bang for the buck

In the past I was the proud owner of a Roland TD-20. I could not afford another Roland, so I went with the Alesis dm10x mesh. It looks pretty sharp with all the chrome. The kick pad is much smaller, but just big enough for a double pedal. Set up is a bit of a challenge. The cables do not run through the support bars so it can be a tangled mess until you get it set up and strapped down. The dm10 module does not have a labelled input for a fourth tom or 2nd crash cymbal, so good luck figuring that out. It takes some time studying the manual to get the sound right and eliminate crosstalk between triggers. But after tweaking things for a week, I am fairly happy with it. The module is not as user friendly as the Roland and the cymbals are much inferior. The feel clunky and make more noise when hit than desirable. I have to really turn up the headphones not to hear the stick hits. The mesh heads are responsive and quiet. You need to keep a drum key handy because the joints of the cage are secured by 3 bolts. Thumb screws would be better for quick and easy adjustments. Overall, it is not a Roland; but it's not $5k either! For the price, I am satisfied and would buy it again.

  • Fantastic product to dive into the wonderful world of electronic music creation!

I bought the Alesis DM10X Mesh Kit to quiet down the volume while playing music with my band. I have discovered that this product is much, much more than simply a drum set with a volume knob. I am excited about the possibilities that are opening up for my hobby in regards to music creation. If you are looking for an electric drums set to use simply as quiet drums, you can find a much cheaper set. The only issue that I have with the product is the hi-hat response, but it is has a learning curve, and doesn't play like an acoustic set. They are electric drums; use them like they are meant to be used!

  • Alesis DM10X is....

The Alesis DM10X is a great professional e set. I have owned Yamaha, Pearl, Ludwig, Slingerland, Remo, most high end sets but without using a microphone system I could never get "that sound" that you hear on musical recording sets. But with this DM10X I can get the sound I have been looking for. I haven't figured out all the features as yet but so far I'm loving this kit. The guys in the band dig it as well because they didn't have to turn their amps up really high to hear what's being played.

  • A good set for the price paid.

Setup was fairly easy, and stable. The hi-hat and snare are not very responsive. Its my first electronic set and I am getting used to it. It is fun to play and will be great to play when ever I want without disturbing anyone.

  • Great

Biggest issue that I didn't read anywhere was the snare stand is tiny. Like I can't use it tiny. I sit as low as i can and it came up go the bottom of my thighs on my thrown.. lol. But got a 40 buck snare stand and still ahead of the game. I'm already using with addictive drummer and SSD so . Easy to set up. Easy to use. Limited rock and metal sounds but editable if needed. Can use the sounds to throw down a decent track at friends house etc. Mapping was only a little off not much And only other minor gripe is cymbal placement is a little limited but I'm flex able so not an isseue. Plays great!!!

  • Exceptional

Needed it for recording purposes and it has met all expectations! Endless list of high quality percussion sounds. Being able to assign sounds to the rims makes it twice the drum set it looks. It's like it has hidden sounds.
