Serious enough for serious photos, light enough to be an everyday item in your bag

This a light and nifty DSLR that is enough for most photographic purposes. It may be entry-level - and you can just use it on auto mode as if it were a much simpler camera - but it has most of the features of a serious Nikon camera and is more than just a camera for those learning or not quite ready for more complicated or more expensive cameras which you just can't manage to carry around everywhere. The D3300 - with the VRII kit lens, as I bought it here - really is light enough to be in your bag all the time. And it has plenty of features, plus I find it is better on all fronts than earlier entry-level Nikon DSLRs I had like the D40 and D60. I almost looked for a D3400, but all reviews said don't bother and stick to the older and better D3300 instead. So it doesn't seem to have been surpassed in its size and price range yet. Recommended.

    D3300

Excellent entry level camera, comes with the latest AF-P kit lens. The rest of the accessories are of a inferior make, the Tamaron lens is the old noisy version and not brilliant. Disappointed with the tripod very cheap and nasty would not trust attaching a camera to it. Overall would be better to just buy the camera and kit lens, then buy better quality accessories separately and just the items you need

  • Good good light camera and first class pictures.

This surely is a fantastic camera packed with features for the novice. Don't be put off by it's cheap price it delivers sharp results as good as the High end Nikons. It has one of the highest resolutions than the high end cameras using the entire frame to capture the picture.Great camera to have for the money don't waste your money on other high end cameras unless your using all the time.

  • Great camera for those new to digital photography

This was an 18th birthday gift for my son. He loves it! Lots of great features to make it taking photos easy (auto) or using tailor made settings once more proficient. Movie mode excellent (main reason son wanted camera) and this camera is a real quality bit of kit.

  • the best care on the market for the price.

Very good sensor, high dynamics, perfectly true colours, good video capabilities. No servo motor on the body that means I can not use autofocus with my old lenses. But for this price it can not be a demand. The kit lens is simply awesome. Atomic sharp, no aberration, drawing is perfect in all focus range. I'm absolutelly amazed.

  • Excellent entry-level DSLR

I bought this as a second camera for a shorter lens since my main camera has a long lens fitted almost all the time for wildlife stuff. Must say I'm impressed. Really easy to use and the high Megapixel count (24MP+) makes this an ideal entry-level DSLR or second 'fallback' camera, with really good quality images. Shoots RAW too. ISO on auto works well and the aperture and shutter speed settings are easy to control. Have to say that the auto (green) setting takes great shots too. Could do without all the other settings (sports, landscapes, close-up, etc) I think. If you're bothering to use a DSLR at all why would you want that stuff? Then it'd be just a very expensive point and shoot camera. Cheaper 'bridge' cameras do that job just as well. Nothing fancy here but a good solid cost-effective quality product (that seems to be holding its resale value reasonably well too).

  • D3300 Nikon DSLR Camera

Purchased this for a good price - only 1500 shutter count so basically barely broken in. High quality and extremely easy to use. Highly recommend camera system.

  • Delighted with my nikon d3300

Super camera with only 10 shutter actions recorded. Easy to us and set for automatic modes in all conditions. I have moved up from a bridge camera to a dslr and couldn't ask for more. The pictures were pin sharp in various conditions and with the 24+ megapixel sensor a dream to work with in photoshop. The 18-55 lens is a good all-rounder but I have bought a nikon 18-200 lens which I find more versatile. Basically a super camera with many features yet to explore. Five stars rating for excellence.

  • great starter camera but no AF motor

brilliant camera for a beginner and a hobbiest, perfect for people taking holiday photos or for people beggining to build a portfolio of photos pros - Huge battery life - easy to use with walkthrough modes - great range of lenses - light and easy to carry - very fast shutter speeds - great high iso for low light photos - fast auto shot rate when holding the button cons- no af motor so you have to pay a bit more for lenses with their own motor - grainy at higher iso's
