Asus Green DVD - Writer DRW-24D5MT
I have bought a number of DVD drives over the years, but the extra quality brought by the Asus brand was apparent the moment I looked at the box. No plain brown cardboard here, with plenty of informative details about the product, it's green credentials and it's readiness for windows 10. Inside the player was well protected with fitted soft foam end caps whilst the unit itself was sealed in an Asus branded bag. Fitting and wiring was standard for its type. First job it needed to do was install an operating system from disc, and it performed it flawlessly with nothing more than a steady hum. With Windows 7, I fitted to my 10 year old 64bit HP tower PC, connected (new extra) leads and powered up. It works. Didn't need to install, Win7 knew what to do and did it for me. Works well above my original writer which still plays Region 1. With this ASUS region 4 (play) so all my CD's and DVD's can all be heard and viewed. This DVD Re-Writer has given my old PC a new lease of life.

Burns disks other burners won't.
I brought this drive because I have a backlog of dual layer DVD that my original burner wouldn't burn, I brought a Liteon which promised to write on any disk, but did not. So I saw this and thought well for the price it was worth a try. This drive arrived went in no problems and has burned on to the troublesome disks no problem. I purchased this DVD recorder as a replacement for one that I hadn't had that long but seem to be burning CDs incorrectly.
