I have had a salicylate problem for about 4 years and regularly have a look on the web for latest info. I also firmly believe that a lot of the behavioural problems in kids these days are food related as my youngest was awful until we found she had a cow’s milk intolerance. this book is very interesting and helpful regarding general intolerance and sensitivity information and recipes. Life can be bland food wise in our world. I would have given it five stars except that it does not include a food list. It does say that one can be found on their website (along with a whole host of other info) but I couldnt find it. I will have another look! I do of course already have lists from elsewhere but i wanted to make sure i was using the most up to date and mostly lists do not say when they were last revised, and they do vary a bit eg i cant see how tandoori spice powder can have negligible salicylate when its ingredients are all high! I was also interested to see that it didnt give info on why the body might react to additives/gluten/sals etc. Which would have been helpful- but at the end of the day it was primarily a diet/recipe book. It’s not a cheap book, even second hand, but worth it if you are looking for menu planning help that will keep the whole family happy.
