  • Wonderful book but strangely incomprehensive

This book is the updated version of one originally written in the 1970s, and has updated much of the photography, and a few of the words. However, some of the clubs from the 1979 version have disappeared in this book (what did the RAC do to get 'blackballed' in this edition?) and it remains unclear about the division between the grand clubs (mainly covered), the more "apply here" clubs (only the City clubs mentioned) and the younger but equally exclusive ones (e.g. Blacks, Groucho, 2 Brydges - not mentioned at all). Overall I am confused as to the reason second hand versions cost in excess of £200 in some cases, but I'm v happy to have it on my bookshelf.
