Compelling perhaps, challenging certainly, an initial impression
Brought up on Microsoft simulators so I am biased, I found the flight detail and instrumentation too good, but you can cut though to auto start but also you can actually go through the full start sequence " as is " far more than Microsoft but very time consuming. The lack of easy access to cheat /check sheets makes for lots of reaserch into what keys control the flaps and such like and are all different from other F S's so you have to be on a steep learning curve until you become familliar with their way of controlling the various functions i wa surprised that the scenery comes on a couple of disks , only the first initial flight has scenery but more is aded as you fly oiut of the area which may distrac some pilots, however you can load the disks in advance, and all the other planes come on a separate disk which you have to,load into a document folder to begin with as there are a lot of planes but you only need load your favourites.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointing Flight Gear Flight Simulator
I purchased this Simulator hoping to give me a much better alternative to my Xplane 10 . Unfortunately I found this simulator slow to load and clumsy to set up. Particularly I found I could not set up my Joystick successfully and consequently unable to fly with any control ! For the time being I will stick with my Xplane 10. Excellent CDs, assembled very well by this supplier
This is not a review of Flightgear, its an excellent sim and many detailed reviews are available elsewhere. Its a review of the CD pack by this supplier. This supplier has put together all the essentials of FlightGear onto a set of excellent CDs. All the application files, scenery, lots of Aircraft and with an installer and menu front end on each CD too. Aircraft and scenary have to be imported to the application after the install, but simple instructions are provided. Its a very straightforward moving files process. The program and data can be downloaded for free, but this collection saves days of finding and downloading and installs with no problem at all. To give an idea of how much data is provided, allow about 4 hours for the total install. I'm delighted I spent the money and saved all that download time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Can’t load it on and the bit I did load on says 2017 not 2018
