Bought to reset my engine management light on my 2001 BMW Z3. Nicely constructed in its own case. Detailed instruction book. Connect to OBD port and plug 'n' play. Identified same fault as my local garage diagnosed. Was able to reset and turn warning light off. Clearly can be used to diagnose many other engine functions. only bought it for one reason; didn't do it
I don't do many miles and service my car annually. Hence, a service now reminder appears on my dashboard months after my service. I bought this device to switch off this unnecessary warning which annoys; rather than drive back to my servicing garage to have them turn it off. I plugged the device into the diagnostic port. I followed the stages but the section I needed called MIL if memory serves was permanently on off. No matter what I tried , I could not turn this to -on. The diagnostic never identified my warning problem , which still comes on every time I turn on the ignition on the car. I cannot truly answer if it is good quality or good value. It might be for somebody else or it it might just scroll through a preset sequence and not be diagnosing the car at all. How would I know?Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A really nice surprise to receive something that far exceeds expectation. This unit comes well packaged in its own carry case with full picture instructions which make it a doddle to use. It powers up from the car itself so no batteries required and was simple and intuitive to use. The recurring engine management light on my Audi is related to emissions and periodically activates. Vgate VS890 helped with DPF error management
The Vgate has been used to manage a problem of repeated Ford Focus (MK2 2008) "Engine Management" warnings that put the engine into "cripple" mode. I am impressed by the quality and the ease of use of the fault-code-reader. Previously each occurrence had been cleared by the local garage by working-clearing the Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) and resetting clearing the fault code. Eventually, a new (not OEM) DPF was fitted, after a few months the same warnings started to re-occur, despite the precaution of a weekly "20 minute burn up the motorway" to regenerate the DPF. Vgate VS890 was purchased, the fault code determined and then the ECU fault memory cleared using the Vgate. Then after the next "20 minute burn up the motorway", Vgate was used again to clear ECU's fault memory. The combined burn-up plus fault clear process, seems to have cured the fault, for the moment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

WORKS ON MONDEO ST TDCi 2.2 Had an engine management light, was EGR related... Replaced it, plugged this in and cleared the fault, comes with a book on how to use it, and it's full of every code that your car could get... For £25-£35 less than a garage to do it for you... A Brilliant Tool, even for Numpties!
The advert makes this tool look too good to be true, but interested me enough to contact Ultimate Car Parts enough to ensure it was suitable for my diesel Volvo. Their prompt response and interest in my problem ensured me that they were the supplier I would purchase from with confidence. The reader arrived promptly and after a 10 minute read I fitted it to the car. The instructions are clear and my engine running fault was identified within another 10 minutes and partially cleared. To fully clear the problem will require Volvo's intervention, but in the meantime I have a driveable car and know what is required to complete the job. It does what it says on the tin
I bought this to turn out the eml after fitting a decat. This was recommended by a mate of mine who has the same kind of issue with his car. . Plugging this in saves so much time and worry when a light does come on.....plus it saves you money as you do not have to pay a garage to have a look at something that could potentially be not very serious.
