Excellent US quality!
Whilst this pressure cooker cannot be considered cheap to buy after customs and shipping, it is without doubt the best made pressure cooker I have ever owned. True US standard manufacture, solid and durable. I was a little apprehensive on reading the instructions for use, but having used it with just water in it to test it out, I am extremely impressed. I bought it to use for bottling meat dishes for my larder to save space in my freezer, and after a lot of research found this cooker; the only one I know of to have been authorised by US authorities for SAFE bottling of meat dishes. It is meant to be used on gas, but I have an Aga cooker, gas fired but not the same as it has two hotplates. However by starting it off on the cooler of the hot plates; moving it to the hot one when going up to pressure; then bringing it back to the cooler plate for the remainder of cooking it works perfectly. I am very impressed with this cooker and with the quality of US manufacture. UK pressure cookers do not bottle meat dishes safely and it appears that the German ones don't either as I had no response from the manufacturers of the one German pressure cooker I found. If you are serious about bottling for the larder, then this is the cooker for you. If all you want is a standard pressure cooker for cooking rather than bottling, then get something cheaper.
