I purchased a different weather forecaster but it on went to -4 degrees. It gets much colder than that in South Dakota so I purchased this one. It works well. The only thing I dislike is that the display is hard to read. I tried putting it on the wall but could not read the display without standing really close. It is better on the desk where you are looking straight at it or down at a little angle. The stickers on the packaging make it look like it is easy to read so it is a bit deceiving.
