I like the new style magnetic resistance system, it works much better than the old friction belt type, it gives a smoother pedalling felling, just like riding a bike, I now enjoy using this machine, rather than dreading having to use it for my physical fitness, the one piece of technology that actually works for me, I have had to modify the handle positions by not using the bolts supplied, and replacing with just jubilee clips as to raise to a steeper level, and to adjust the back rest with extended bolts and nuts to suit my needs, I do have an engineering background, so this machine may not suit everyone unless you Taylor it to your requirements. Just bear in mind we are not all the same shape or size when buying this equipment or any other products.
The bike arrived promptly.
Assembly instructions could be better. Operating instructions are brief and incomprehensible.
Mine had damage to the plastic panels on the central flywheel unit caused by faulty factory assembly. Replacement unit promptly sent, but this was also damaged, this time in transit, as a result of hopeless packaging. Was also sent central unit from rowing machine in error. JLL demanded this back. As I refused to wait in 12 hours for their courier, JLL cancelled my guarantee on the bike.
The original tension control and the one from the damaged replacement unit both became faulty after little usage.
Otherwise, the bike itself seems quite sturdy and well made. Changing the length is time consuming and difficult, requiring two people. For this reason the bike is not suitable for two users with different leg lengths.
The seat is hard and uncomfortable and needs to slope back more. If you are going to use it for more than 2 minutes a pillow is needed.
Go miles without having to leave the house and get exerise at the same time
I bought this for my wife as she had been using gym equipment at the hospital and wanted to continue. She is well pleased with this exercise bike.More so because you are able to sit back and relax while getting fit. You can adjust the tension as you get fitter and want a bit resistance.Just like going up a gradient. it is fully adjustable for people of various sizes, I am 5ft 8" and my wife is only 5ft. It adjusts in seconds pull the adjusting knob up and slide the seat back. What can be simpler.
For storage that is no problem either as the front has two wheels for ease of transport. Lift up the back end where the seat is you will find that it lifts very easily as there is little weight there and just pull it where you wish it to be stored.
This is a brilliant piece of kit no home should be without one. Invest in this Recumbent Exercise Bike and save money on gym fees. you will find as my wife has found that you don`t need to go out in the cold to get exercise stay in the warm.
My wife and I cant praise it enough and highly recommend it
Came promptly and well packed. Assembed in next to no time. Both my wife and I are in our early 60's and felt we needed something to help us keep fit and the heart working.
Very happy with the Bike; comfortable seat and back rest, very very quiet, easy to set up and understand read out.
Can't rate durabillaty but it is looks to be a well built sturdy piece of kit and is "just the job" for our needs.
I'm early 60's and wanted this for circulation and exercise on 'rainy days'. Only had for a couple of weeks but it's certainly 'fit for purpose' for my requirements and I believe for those after more of a cardio workout than I am up to. Essentially fits together as front and back that 'glides' to the correct leg length - I'm 5'10" and it will extend longer. Sturdy (so not overly lightweight) and not very difficult for two people, of one stronger person. to fit together fairly speedily. Might be 5 star but have no comparisons - so not able to say it's amazing as I have not used a comparative machine. If I were buying a present for a relative, with similar needs, I would not hesitate in buying this. Hope this helps!
I am only 5ft 1 so normal bikes for me are no good as my legs are not long enough. This one accommodates my short legs but also adjust for much longer legs too. It was easy to put together and the recumbent style is very comfortable on both the posterior and the back.
I had missed the regular exercise of walking the dog and was looking for a machine that would give me a gentle work out and also a more rigorous regime if I chose. The magnetic loading certainly does that on the RE 100.Previous experience of exercise bikes (years ago) was that the loading system was not effective. It's early days but I think I am feeling the benefit having lost 2lbs in a week of quite gentle session.
It was easy to assemble using the ingenious tool provided although it was easier to use a normal screwdriver on the 2 lowest screws securing the screen module.
The bike has quite a small footprint so doesn’t take up too much space, and as the front end caps double-up as wheels it is quite easy to move it from room to room. In saying that though I must admit that I have a dedicated space for mine. It is comfortable and very quiet in use making it easy to exercise without bothering others in the house. As I have mine upstairs this was very important. I have no idea as to longevity as I’ve only just bought it, but it seems very sturdy and well built.
In a nutshell:
Pros: Quiet in operation, comfortable large padded seat, easy to move (if required), sturdily built.
Cons: Limited console display. Does display everything you need but cyclically rather than ‘at a glance’. Easy to put a different one on though.
I bought the bike to help my recovery from a hip revision and it seems to be doing the job well. It is well made for the money and seems like a solid and quality product.
The only slight gripe that I have is that the main length adjustment is very stiff and it would make it nigh on impossible for two people of differing heights to use.
