  • Interesting Account Of The Other Side Of Everest '96

Having previously read 'Into Thin Air' & various other titles related to the '96 Everest Disaster I was drawn to this book having watched the documentary 'Summit Fever' featuring Brian Blessed's 3rd attempt on Everest via the North Ridge Route. The author Matt Dickinson takes the reader on the journey from sea level to 29,000 & back, detailing the trials involved in a summit bid, the struggle to acclimatise & some of the trials of life & death within the death zone, on what is arguably the more difficult & technical route up Everest. This was an interesting read & I recommend this book to any fans of mountain literature.
