Tough Job, But You CAN Win!
Getting rid of bed bugs can be a long and difficult process. Even with professionals, the bugs sometimes come back up to a year later. And the professionals make you do all the hard work anyway. I have tried a few different sprays and all pretty much just work on contact. This one seems to work the best though, and is great for spraying in places they may be hiding that are otherwise hard to reach. Plus, it is all natural. We used this in combination with Diatomaceous Earth and finally got rid of them after a year of battle. Spray any areas they might hide. So far, it seems safe for all surfaces I have gotten it on. Strong smell, but kinda nice and hippie like. The smell doesn't seem to last more than a few days, even if you spray it heavy. But it is oil based, so I think the effect sticks around a bit. Once you have sprayed, let it dry pretty good, then dust with the Diatomaceous Earth. Just a light mist that is barely visible all around your bed. They suggest to not get it on the sheets, but I did because they freak me out. Don't dust the sheets, but I exposed mine as the dust in the room was settling. And the dust will fill the room. You should cover any electronics, etc. The D-Earth breaks down the bugs' skin and they die. Even though the spray and D-Earth are all natural, I would still wear a dust mask when applying. The D-Earth especially because it can be harmful to breathe even though you can eat it (get the food grade). We also built a small room in the garage (4 x 8 ft.) we could heat over 130 degrees to kill any bugs in our mattresses or furniture. It takes us about three space heaters to get up to temp. Make sure you get whatever you are heating off the floor so it can get hot enough. It really is a huge pain, but just know you can win if you are diligent. Wash and dry all clothes near the bed and do treatments on a regular basis even after you think they are gone. Professionals generally say if you are bed bug free for a year, you probably won. Good luck!
