This is simply placed under the gravel, attach the carbon filter to the top to remove toxins and organic dyes from the water. The undergravel filter does require an air pump to operate which is not included in the Bowl Filter option, so you will need to attach to your own air pump.

Does not work
Followed assembly instructions and attached to pump but no air gets through the stone. Not a problem with my pump as it works with the filter I have in my tank now but this new filter just does not work at all.

The bottom ring broke off and it doesn't work properly
