  • Many things I like and a couple of thins I don't

First of all this is not light weight, but that (in my opinion is a good thing, because light probably means it won't hold up very well. I have been carving since the 1960's and about 15 years ago added a rotary tool to my tools. I was a BD and last quite a while but when it broke I could not get it fixed...so I have had Dremel and Wen and not that great. I have been wanted a Proxxon for a while. I really like the speed setting a large range and you can set it any where and no more collets to loose and replace..and the drill type chuck holds everything securely in place. So the dislikes, I guess there are two.....the heat vents are right where you hold the rotary tool so your hands get pretty warm (hot) after using it for a while, this other is the switch....it is easy to hit the switch and turn it of or on when you don't want too........All and all it is a very well made tools that i think will last a long time.

  • The Best Rotary Tool

The Proxxon is really what these things ought to be. It's very quiet and smooth, much more so than any Dremel. The tool also lasts, and anyone who's gone through Dremel's like kleenex knows what I'm talking about. With the Dremel, it seems the variable speed control is among the first things to go, but the Proxxon is simply a better tool. I use these things *hard*, cutting and grinding metal, building and modifying small DC motors, and I was lucky to get 6 months out of the best Dremel. The Proxxon is the one to get...without a doubt. I always use the chuck for convenience. The collets may be more precise, but for a hand held tool, there's no real reason to NOT use a chuck. Even the Proxxon accesories are a setp up from most of the Dremel accesories BTW, Hardware Sales is the place to get the Proxxon. . Price and service has always been top notch!
