Freezer power hungry
I bought this freezer for my sailboat. I have good solar support and an inverter when required. Early testing seems to reveal a power hog without sufficient insulation to preserve thermal mass. I loaded the freezer with provisions for a trip to the Bahamas. I filled the voids with bottled water to make more renewable thermal mass. 12v is very weak even with battery bank on float at more than 14v. AC side is fine if you like a 14 amp draw. This unit is sold as a freezer/refrigerator and I have set temp at 20F and am less than pleased. Internal temp raises fast when power is interrupted or switched from AC to D.C. The lack of insulation in the box is evident as a result.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect road trip fridge.
I have a Toyota Tacoma with the built in power invertor. The fridge only draws 75 watts so it runs perfect while driving down the road. I also have an auxiliary 12 v system. Great Product
I was a little reluctant to buy it due to the cost, but this really is well built and low enough to fit in my pickup bed with the cover on (23"). I recommend getting the insulated cover as well. I haven't used the DC option yet. It's been sitting in my living room running on AC, packed and cooling to -8 deg. F. Sure beats dry ice for those long road trips.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Motorhome Use
I bought this to replace a 12 year old refrig/freezer that bit the dust. Installed nicely and seems to be working well. Am only using it as an additional freezer and it is doing a fine job. Only time will tell if will last as long as the original. Quality and finish is exceptional for the price. Really couldn't be happier.
