I have a Garmin - Oregon 450
The old power button fell out of it.
I ordered this one for a replacement and the outside design is a perfect match. However, the pin portion pin the inside of the button. That should activate the on off switch does not even reach for enough into the unit to start or stop the unit.
The adhesive does not work very well at all. Not strong enough at all.
I ended up
Cutting a eraser off of a pencil to make up the difference where the pin wouldn't reach. And had to put it between the pin on the new button and the inside of the unit. Where it would make up the difference just to get it to work.
And then had to use super glue very careful around the edges to seal the button down from the lack of adhesive in the sticky pads.
These are not originals and they don't work very good without a great deal of extra risky work. Due to the fact that if super glue gets down in the actual switch mechanism its probably ruined. Needless to say
I wasnt real happy with this.
The adhesive is not strong and button's edge keeps lifting away from the body. The rubber stud of the button that pushes the micro switch is too narrow--very hard to line up directly over the microswitch.
It is better than electrical tape and the tip of a pencil eraser that I was using before.
My G5 power button was dry rotted and worn, Garmin wanted me to buy a new one, these folks sold me a new button cover for $20, this saved me $100 and I keep the unit I like.
Did the job, but the included adhesive pads weren't sufficient and left gaps between the button and GPS housing. I used seamgrip adhesive and clamped the button to install. This made the replacement button waterproof.
