    Caravaner User

Not convinced about able to use “straight from the box” it takes a bit of setting up. Not sure about some of the rave reviews that influenced my purchase (perhaps comm agreements are at play??) My findings Slow booting up. It has twice selected caravan routes that are not suitable, luckily I knew better. It did give an incorrect destination with a UK postcode on first time of using, it was out by a few miles but again knew where I was going so at least I got there. Although I have followed the set up in the manual for entering the details of my car and caravan, it thinks I’m a truck and tells me that 55mph is my maximum speed on motorways and dual carriageways. MPH/Kph doesn’t automatically change in France yet it gives the MPH conversion, which is not absolutely a true figure conversion. You need to go into settings and manually change the speed parameter. Not exactly quick and easy to set up a route so if you’re in a hurry allow a bit more time. When stopping for a journey break it is a fiddle on to set the route to continue, surely a “continue route” one button push option would be able to be programmed? The Journey time and ETA assessments are way too long but do reduce en route (possibly because it thinks I’m a truck?) I tend not to have the voice guidance on with any satnav as I still prefer to use my own judgement for turns and intersections etc. However there isn’t an option to “mute” and therefore you have to turn the sound down every time you start off, even if it’s just after a journey break. On a positive note I’ve used it now in UK and France and find that generally it performs okay although I still crosscheck with the Michelin app route planner, which also has a caravan option, before setting off if I have time. The guidance is clear and junction points clearly identified and easy to follow. So am I happy with the product? Well at £259.99, yes. Had it have been the RRP of £309.99, well maybe not so happy. As with all new devices it takes a bit of getting used to.

  • Most critical review

Map display, sound and ease of use disappointing

Purchased to replace an old TomTom, liked the big screen but mapping display and voice guidance basic compared with latest TomTom, some touch control icons small, audio not very clear. Excellent database of sites etc., but not easy to navigate. Google maps excellent with 'cross hair' destination. Limited 'side road' info and roundabout guidance could be better. When used abroad the benefit of the comprehensive database of sites/stopovers could perhaps outweigh some shortcomings.

  • Best choice for a Motorhomer

The Aguri brand name might not be one that you've heard of before (but after using 2 well-known branded satnavs for many years) we needing a replacement that had more features (inc a dvr recorder) and the RV720 was the only one that ticked all of our boxes. It took a while to get used to and to tweak to our requirements, but we have not been disappointed. It's an excellent bit of kit and (in our opinion) the maket leader in the motorhome and/or caravan class of satnav. Their customer service has been excellent and lota of videos are available on the Aguri website (and on YouTube) covering all aspects of it's use. Finally, to save time positioning it in our motorhome, we also purchased a magnetic mount and bought the deluxe version of the RV720 which came with lots of extras. 10/10

  • As a caravaner for 35 years I had never heard of Aguri. It’s a shame it is not advertised in various caravan and Motorhome magazines.

The product is easy to use and excellent value which takes it above many other sat navs in the market. The only minor problem is the woman’s voice. It really grates me because it is very harsh sounding. Yet to experiment with other voices.

  • Dedicated caravan & motorhome sat nav with large screen for easy use & display.

This was not bought off the manufacturer, but it was new and still boxed. I have not had chance to use it yet but its set up was fairly easy and the quality of the unit seems to be good as do the reviews. The only fault I can see with it at the moment is the what seems to be a flimsy sat nav holding bracket that attaches the sat nav to the windscreen sucker.

  • Good Satnav

A good looking satnav which appears to be well made. Good value at ex display price. Be careful in you descriptions as this one had obviously been returned as there were still photos of someone’s living room on the sd micro card. Have not tried in towing caravan yet but it accepted all the details of the caravan

  • Great warnings for speed cameras!

Very solid and well made item. Not intuitive to use, so you will need to read the manual. Several times it told us to turn off the motorway and come back on at the same junction. So much on there that I don't need and will never use.

  • Assumption not good.

So many boxes ticked with my requirements for a lone traveller. With the tethering of my iphone for live traffic being a welcome option, I assumed there would be a hands free facility as the phone is linked. Need now to purchase hands free kit. Nuisance as another piece of kit is now required.

  • A guru sat nav

Best satnav on the market I’ve tried them all but the Aguri motorhome satnav tops them all with every feature

  • Would not recommend.

Not set up to my new vehicle as yet, have played around with it, but too much technical jargon for my liking. Will keep it for the reversing and dash cam elements, as for the sat nav side of it would much prefer my Tom Tom 60, far more fun elements to it.
