I Win with a Wen
What a powerful log splitter! I was so impressed with the way it split hardwood. It was fast, efficient and fun to operate. It made the job enjoyable. In fact, my wife had to get in on the action and learn how to split logs. We contemplated buying a large gas log splitter, but did not want to take up all of our garage space. After reading about the WEN splitter we decided to try it out. It was an excellent choice. Assembly was quick and easy and the safety features relieved any concerns I had about my wife operating it when I was not around. Buy a Unit that is operated with ONE Hand
You need BOTH hands to use it, others that I have used, Just needed one....I understand the safety of both....but others will shut off slide cycle, when released. Great spitter for most applications
If you're living off grid in the great white north you may want a heavier gas model but for most others this one works quite well. I split very dense straight grained heart wood oak 19 inches long and 18 inches in diameter without issue. If you cut wood long enough to just fit the gap it's pretty darn quick to work with. With 120V electric you are limited to the amp capacity so ram travel may not be as fast as some gas models but with pieces cut near the length of the opening in the splitter the ram has little travel before splitting begins and it is quite good. Excellent log splitter, but...
I really wanted to give this a 5 star rating. It is an excellent tool for the purpose of splitting logs. The problem I have is I am splitting olive wood and this splitter can not handle it. Olive wood is roughly twice as dense as Oak. So, if you have really hard wood like I do, you have to cut the log in half length wise. Then it will split the harder woods more easily. This machine will work great on less dense wood. Oak has a janka rating of about 1000 f/lb to 1600 f/lb. Olivewood has a janka rating of 2'700 f/lb. So, for most woods, this is a great machine. I am still very happy with my purchase. If it is a higher janka rating like olive, it will require a bit more work.

Stronger than you think
Needed a small splitter read the reviews still had doubts got it put it together plugged it in and began the task had thoughts that it would tip over using the stand to my surprise this little thing split with little problems some wood had to be turned or split in smaller sections but it got the job done safety feature of using two hands to run the machine is fine with me just amazed how it split and with ease I like it and a friend showed up he liked the splitter too ran it the whole time . An Exceptional Log Splitter!!!
Excellent value proposition!!! Log splitter is very well made, heavy duty, quiet to operate, ergonomically sound, fun to operate, compact in size, safe to operate and does an outstanding job - splitting logs. Best of all, it is VERY reasonably priced for the quality machine you get. A Fun and Pleasant Surprise
When I first received this unit, I was pretty sure I would change out the push button switch with a toggle so I could use one-handed operation. After having split up everything I could find around the house in two fun sessions, I don't think I'll bother. It is fine to use, as it is, safely. I was surprised how easily this splitter handled my tough-to-split pieces. I know these were tough because I had been using a maul on them. The wood was so fibrous, knotty and twisted that I would have to smack it at least a dozen times, some pieces over twenty times. That's too much work! As far as I'm concerned, this little unit has already paid for itself just in the labor it has saved me on the existing pile of 'tough stuff' that it worked through. It's not invincible. I found several times that I could stall the piston by asking it to split a really bad piece. But in each case, I was able to turn the wood, set up a small bite or change the direction and make progress. The piece got smaller, even it the shape was not perfect! I am quite happy with the splitter. For the second session, I assembled the stand, and enjoyed less bending. With the stand, It's not quite as handy to store it away when I'm done, but that is a small issue right now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good for home use
Arrived in large cardboard box in good shape. Only assembly required was the stand. Checked the fluid level and opened vent. Operated perfectly. Did not strain to split large logs. I was surprised at how easily it split the logs. If it continues operating like it did the first day it will be perfect for occasional use. Great product
This logsplitter works far better than I expected. I have a woodburner in my shop for heat. I bring in unsplit firewood into the warm shop and split as I burn. Perfect, low to no maintenance and I split logs inside in the warmth. Works so well Im thinking of selling my gas engine splitter. Tough as the wood it splits Splitter
This electric log splitter is perfect for the person who burns small fires for the weekend. Super tough and strong enough to split 12" dia Wet Hickory. The wife uses it all the time and is now hers.
