I purchased the Belkin F4U097 in order to use a Thunderbolt Mac and a USB-C PC on different days and reduce the amount of cable replugging. I also wanted something that would not require manual installation of driver software. In terms of not having to install driver software, and no longer having to replug the ethernet and USB cables, it has worked with everything I have connected to it. In terms of video, however, it is very dependent on the computer (which must have DisplayPort alt mode). A Surface Pro 7 can use the dock DisplayPort output. A MacBook Pro (early 2013, with an Apple Thunderbolt 1/2 to 3 adapter) will recognise the monitor connected to the DisplayPort of the dock, but not produce a video output. An HP Elitebook 840 G3 (2019) with "basic" USB-C does not recognise the video output at all.Read full review

I use this for the M1 Mac Mini as it only has 2 TV3 ports. This dock has a DisplayPort 1.4 which I connect to my QWHD monitor at 144Hz, which is unattainable with HDMI on my Mac mini. On top it gives you an extra TB3 port which is handy when transferring data from drives. I paid £125 which is half the retail cost. The dock has a clean design and I recommend this product especially if you are lacking ports on the new Mac mini.
