Great product, easy setup and it works as advertised.
Great product! It works as advertised. Setup is very easy, and takes just a few seconds. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are the large size of the extender unit, and the fact that neither unit can be used in any powerpoint/power outlet on a skirting board as both units physically extend below the powerpoint, rather than above.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It Works.
I had a bit of problems to make it work in the beginning but managed to work. But working OK now. I, however, still could not "clone" the original WIFI SSID and Password on this WIFI extender. I tried a few times according to the simple information sheet but I couldn't make it work.... At present, there is a marketing campaign going, which give you one extra device. But the device does not work as an additional WIFI range extender. In other word, you need a different type of device to install more than 2 WIFI range extender. But you get one additional base unit instead. So, it is rather meaningless. After all, it works fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good solution for improving WiFi on 2.4 and 5 bands.

Working well, but not necessarily simple to set up
Now I have it set up, all seems well, but I very nearly sent these back. These devices are not small, covering two power outlets, so finding a suitable location to to pair them can be an issue. This is particularly so if you have restricted access to power outlets due to layout and furniture etc in the way. It took me several hours and several factory resets to pair successfully for the power line ethernet connection, but eventually I succeeded by putting the extender on a short extension lead on the same power outlet as the adapter. Then came the wifi extension. I was repeatedly unable to use the simple method described, and had to connect the extender to my laptop wirelessly and enter the wifi network and password manually. The process for this is set out in the TPlink videos available thru the barcode in the instructions. But now it is working, it seems to meet expectations. I have the same connection speed and wifi strength at the extension as I do at my router.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

easy to set up and it does cross circuits. e.g. I have the sender in my office and the receiver in the shed which is on a completely different circuit. Great units, easy setup
Easy setup (Already had 3 existing units). Works well, also shares the load a bit with over 40 devices in the house, garage, shed. (Laptops, Phones, Tablets, TV's, IoT, Pi's...). Throughput is great shared over 5 TP-Link devices to the modem and extends the Internet access through the house. From limited, patchy access to solid connections in all locations. TL-WPA8630P Kit
To each other. 0iI bought this kit as I have poor wireless reception where my set top box and Telstra TV are located. House wiring details: My house wiring is approximately 25 years old and the circuit that my router is on is different to the room with the set top box and Telstra TV but both circuits are on the same switchboard. My switchboard uses RCD's as opposed to fuses / circuit breakers. I am not sure on the exact distance of the electrical wiring but I am estimating it is around 50 metres. I am running Telstra cable on a 100Mbps plan and I have a TP-Link AC750 wireless router connected to the 'bridged' Telstra modem. Installation was simple and quick and I am using cat5e patch cables to make the necessary connections. I installed the smartphone app and measured the powerline speed to be around 140 to 150Mbps. Wireless range has increased and I am able to get 150 Mbps on a wireless g adapter (previously the best I could obtain was 130Mbps) Telstra TV streams movies without issues (I used to get buffering previously) Overall I am happy with the performance as I had concerns with the powerline adapter working across different circuits with an RCD. Would recommend this product but you need to be mindful that you cannot plug these powerline adapters into powerboards as they won't be able to connect. Ok but...
I’ve used these adapters previously with mixed results. This one is ok for the power line internet and the wifi is good when it works, but already this one has overheated and reset to factory and required a second install. The item needs to be in a good airflow position to remain stable but still runs rather warm. A potential design fault is that this won’t fit if you have low plugs/outlets in the location you use it, a swivel power in would resolve this issue. Use the utility to block users or enforce time limits to specific devices as parental controls won’t sync from your main router.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
