LITTLE BEN
Seeing Charlton Heston in the big Cinemascope Version of Ben Hur so many times, it was hard in the beginning, to relate to the little man in this movie that played Ben until, the Terrific production values rolled out in Great storytelling and acting, soon revealing the character to be believable and fitting perfectly into the well chosen cast making for a very engrossing experience and deeply moving portrayal of this novel that lead me to purchase the DVD for my own. It will surprise you how much you can forget the Charlton Heston and Stephen Boyd Version and delight in the way this production starts with the friendship between the two as boys,.. then grown up enemies. Soundtrack is never lush but perfectly fits with drums and instrumental sounds matching that era. Miniseries Version of Ben Hur
Gritty , realistic version of the classic story , albeit a bit overlong with a tendency toward too much overuse of sex scenes. The 1959 and 1926 versions are better, but worth watching if it could be edited. The DVD itself is good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
