NotesTwelve inch vinyl pressing. On Sunset Remixes features five key remixes taken from Weller's trailblazing summer release. The original album featured ten classic yet modern Paul Weller songs, a soul album yet at the same time electronic - and these remixes bring further life to five of those key markers. From the Skeleton Key Remix of 'More' to recent single reimagination 'Old Father Tyme' by Gwenno - this 12" features the coolest cuts from Weller's rare glance into the rear view mirror as he speeds through 2020.
Short remix album is kind of a difficult listen...
I liked the initial vibe of the first cut, but the second was backwards vocals and the two versions of "Rockets" that appear here are extremely polar opposites, with the final version digressing into kind of a bad trip audio wise. I love Paul Weller, and the original mix of On Sunset was good, but I found that these really added nothing to the originals.
