Great design, good build quality, I recommend it.
This one slot toaster is a companion to the Jacob Jensen kettle. In my opinion they are both well designed, with good build quality and good value. Why? It is a relief to find something other than c**p design - and the competition is often poor build quality, with basic controls. Online searches told me that any products that are also reasonably well designed, work, of good quality, and understated are around the same price or more expensive. So I reckon these Jacob Jensen appliances are good value. The toaster is easy to operate and has some very useful controls.It is equipped with a LED display indicating 9 toasting levels [to vary the toasting time - every time] plus defrosting and reheating modes. An excellent buy!
We used to have a Siemens Porsche toaster and kettle which were purchased about 19 years ago. When the kettle finally ceased working I came across the Jensen kettle which was very similar in style and appearance and bought that. Recently the Siemens toaster was still working but toasting very unevenly and the push button to raise the bread had stopped working. The Siemens range of the style I so liked is no more so as I already had a Jensen kettle I looked for the toaster. It was an excellent price and the styling was very similar to my Siemens so I bought it. The controls are brilliant - just a touch button to increase or decrease the browning. I'm really pleased with my toaster and would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, brushed steel toaster, or kettle for that matter, look at the Jensen.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice, but pricey
It toasts well, and is nicely made, but still seems a bit flimsy. Toast ejects ok, but sounds and feels like any other toaster. Its long enough to get 2 large slices in and it does them to the top, nice and even, and the bun/croissant attachment works well. The top is metal, so won't craze like my old plastic one, but probably wouldn't have paid that much if I'd have seen and tried it in real life first.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Looks great
Looks super stylish, classic, modern and als toasts whole pitta / large pieces of bread as it has one long slot rather than 2 smaller side by side ones... which is ideal. However the metal grid inside that holds the bread in place lets smaller pieces fall down and then they're really difficult to get out... Annoying. I would still totally recommend this toaster.
