As the clan bickers and jokes, old truths come to the surface, jealousies flourish, and eventually each of the characters confronts some past hurt or future fear.

An august film
Loved this film. It hooked me from the start and drew me into its fascinating plot which was superbly portrayed by its stellar cast. The laugh out loud humour, both subtle and not so subtle was balanced beautifully with the gravity of the delicate problems caused by power struggles and jealousies within this family at a time of crisis. Tense, at times, largely caused by the unpredictable behaviour of Meryl Streep's character with all her problems, which left the viewer wondering what crazy thing would she get up to next? Glorious bad language which I felt added to the humour at times! Will watch this film many, many times in the future.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
